About The Interior Tomato
The Interior Tomato LLC is a family-owned business founded with years of experience in hydroponic and indoor gardening. We (Sam Ovind, my wife Michelle Walkowiak and my brother Andrew Ovind) opened up our store in 2011 not as a side business, but as our only means of support.
While many of the hydroponic supplies companies fail within the first couple of years, we are continuously growing strong. We recently moved locations and increased stock to better serve the area. That’s because we love what we do and we’re experts at what we do!
We Take Pride In
- Keeping ourselves abreast with the latest developments in the hydroponic/indoor gardening industry
- Providing our customers with the best products available at reasonable prices
- Providing excellent customer service and by guiding them through the purchase
- Knowing about the products by using them before selling
We are not here just to sell the products. We take pride in ensuring that our customers’ growing experience is a successful one. That is the reason we treat every customer like they are part of our family and make their growing both fun and rewarding.
The Interior Tomato specializes in hydroponics and indoor growing. Other companies may offer similar products, but The Interior Tomato’s products are the best, and come with a personal touch. We offer a wide selection of indoor growing supplies in the Twin Cities. Visit our retail store to check out our vast selection.
Commitment to Give Back To Society
The Interior Tomato is committed to giving back to the community it has called home for almost 30 years. We do this by donating time, money, and products to West Duluth staples like West Duluth Public Library, The Valley Youth Center, The Lake Superior Zoo and Nettelton School. The Interior Tomato also donated plants to the city of Duluth after the floods in June of 2012. We worked with schools not only giving the kids plants but showing them how to transplant and care for their new plant.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
Passionate – Friendly – Knowledgeable – Experienced
Sam Ovind, a lifelong resident of Duluth, is the Co-Owner of The Interior Tomato. Prior to operating The Interior Tomato, Sam worked in different industries but always maintained a garden at home.
With 15 years of experience growing it is not only Sam’s career but his passion. Being from Duluth it was important to give back. That’s why Sam is proud to donate his time, money, and store products to several schools and kids organizations in the area
Andy is born and raised in Duluth. He went to school at Johnson & Wales University for business management.
Andy loves his community and has showed this through donating time, money, plants and supplies to the area schools and organizations. He has a passion for growing and has been an active grower for 15 years. He is an expert organic gardener and is very knowledgeable in hydroponics.
Without the support from my beautiful wife Michelle and hard working brother Andrew this would have been almost impossible and not nearly as fun.
We gave Nettleton Elementary plants for the kids to bring home to their parents for mothers day. The teacher came back and gave us hand made cards from the kids saying thanks. It is a great feeling!
Behind the scenes and sometimes at the store, Michelle Walkowiak has helped form The Interior Tomato into the store it is today. From amazing support to a different views input, Michelle has been a very helpful influence
